CSA Members
What is a CSA program?
A CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) connects consumers and farmers through a share of produce that changes on a weekly basis, offering you the opportunity to eat with the seasons and support small local farms in the process. CSAs include a variety of produce that changes weekly depending upon what the farmers are picking.
Your CSA will contain 8-10 different types of the freshest and tastiest seasonal vegetables and fruits. It is thoughtfully designed to be used across multiple meals throughout the week! You can also choose to add meats, fish, eggs, and more to your package! Find the package that works for you, or if you want something custom, just let us know.
I have allergies/food restrictions. Can I still sign up for a CSA?
Of course! We are happy to modify any of our weekly packages to meet your needs. Just give us a call to discuss at 203-832-3000 or email us at orders@mikesorganic.com
I signed up for a CSA package, can I add one-time items to my order?
Yes! You can order anything we have in our online market and we will bring them with your standing CSA delivery. Just add your items during our order window (Fridays 8PM – Sundays 5PM) and we will waive the delivery fee and minimum.
What if I am traveling or need to pause my weekly delivery?

Our Mission/Our Products
Our Mission
Mike’s Organic Delivery was founded in 2009 with one simple goal. To make it convenient for our customers to enjoy the cleanest, freshest, healthiest and most delicious food sourced directly from small, local farmers. Now more than ever, the importance of supporting our small farmers cannot be overstated. They are the stewards of our land, the protectors of our precious food supply, the past and the future of good eating. It is our honor to work hand in hand with them to help build a better food system and keep the local food movement going (and growing!)
Overall sourcing criteria
The two words we use every single day are: Connection and Transparency. A direct connection to the people who grow, raise and make your food, and transparency as to what’s on it, what’s in it, when it was picked and more. Every single product we sell has been personally vetted by the Mike’s Organic team. We take pride in sourcing the highest quality, local whenever possible, items.
Why are your meats and seafood sold frozen?
Our farmers don’t use chemicals or preservatives of any kind, so to maintain freshness they cryovac seal and blast freeze them. It also means that your proteins last longer and stay fresher. You can store in your freezer for up to 6 months, which helps prevent food waste.
How do I defrost my meats and seafood?
Place your item in a bowl of cold water on your counter to defrost. Depending on the item and its size the time to defrost varies. A chicken breast (30-45 minutes), fish or sausages (15-20 min), steak (1 hour), ground beef (30 min). If it’s a larger item like a whole chicken or a leg of lamb, we recommend defrosting in the fridge overnight.
Is everything you sell organic?
The short answer is…no. While almost everything we sell is Certified Organic, we have always been much bigger believers in the source and the method than the label itself. That means we do the homework to look beyond the label and actually ask the question “What are the chickens eating?” Knowledge is power, and nobody works harder to learn about our food than the team at Mike’s.
What does IPM stand for?
IPM stands for Integrated Pest Management which is a sustainable, science-based, decision-making process that identifies and manages the risk from pests and pest management tools and strategies in a way that minimizes overall economic, health and environmental risks. It means that pests are managed with the most effective, least risk option. It differs from organic, because it allows for the application of pesticides when necessary, but it is always as a last resort in an IPM program. Most fruit grown in the Northeast is grown using this method.
